Amplion is a privately owned UK biotechnology company, focused on addressing the increasingly important problem of contamination in sensitive diagnostic assays.
The company’s proprietary 2T-TA technology removes the need for extensive repeat testing and controls, and gives 100% certainty that Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) assays are not contaminated by previous PCR products (termed amplicons).
Based at the Magdalen Centre in Oxford, England, Amplion Ltd. was founded in 2004 by Miles Nunn and Adam Levy.
The commercial strategy of Amplion is to license out the 2T-TA technology to selected partners within the diagnostic kit, microfluidics, thermal-cycler and laboratory services sectors.
